Hard Rock Technologies is a Certified Woman Business Enterprise started in 2008 by one of the first women GPR technicians, Emily Hammer. Ground Penetrating Radar was hardly popular at the time. Most trades had yet discovered its benefits. Emily was able to bridge the gap with contractors walking them through how the Ground Penetrating Radar worked. Through jobsite walkthroughs and “Lunch & Learns” she was able to display how GPR could benefit the construction industry. GPR remains a consistent asset for providing slab depth, depth of targets, centers of obstructions within the slab, and even void detection.
Emily and Hard Rock Technologies continues to prioritize the safety and growth of their technicians. HRT does this best through education and certification. Emily has built bridges with GPR manufacturers, other regional companies, and is actively involved with the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association (CSDA) to facilitate premiere GPR courses and certification of professionalism. She promotes a culture of “always learning” to better equip the team to fit the ever-changing needs of the industry.
